Our representative will be there to receive the Guest at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) He will be assisting the guest to the transfer - Darjeeling - Nearly 105 km 4 hours drive. At an height of 7000feet/ 2123 meters lies the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Mount Everest is the Queen of the hills. It is also home to the famous World Heritage train (UNESCO). Check into hotel. Evening free to walk around Mall road or local Shopping at Darjeeling bazar - Over Night stay at Darjeeling.
Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early morning excursion to Tiger Hill (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts) at around 3:45 am for viewing sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (if the weather is favorable), while returning visit to Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After Breakfast at hotel you will depart for half day city tour of Darjeeling. This Includes Sight seeing at Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on thursday) Ropeway, Tenzing and Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (closed on Sundays), Peace Pagoda. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Mirik Excursion (5800 Ft / 1768 Mts / 60 Kms /1½ - 02 Hrs)
After breakfast at a hotel, you head towards Mirik via Pashupati Nagar, Indo-Nepal Border (Extra vehicle charges will be applicable for Nepal Border to Pasupati Market) for shopping and recreation. Return to Darjeeling in the evening and overnight stay at hotel. Mirik: A small sleepy town built around the 1.25 kilometer long man made Sumendu Lake. The pristine lake is surrounded by high forested hills, tea gardens, orange orchards and cardamom plantations. Horse riding & Boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis.
Darjeeling-Kalimpong Sightseeing. (4078 Ft / 1243 Mts /65 Kms / 1½ - 2Hrs)
After breakfast at hotel you will depart for Kalimpong. On arrival you will be taken to a full day sightseeing of the town which includes, tour of Forest Museum (closed on Thursday), Deolo Hill, Dr.Grahams Homes School, Durpin Monastery, Hanuman Mandir, Mangal Dham and Pine View Nursery (cactus only). Overnight stay in Kalimpong.
Kalimpong- NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (100 Kms / 3½ Hrs)
Transfer from hotel as early as possible keeping enough time in hand to catch the flight otherwise will stuck in traffic jam after having light breakfast from hotel for NJP Railway Station/ Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey.
Sikkim By Air
The airport located nearest to Sikkim is Bagdogra Airport of West Bengal which is only 124 Kms away from Gangtok.Indian Airlines including almost all other domestic airlines such as Jet Airlines, Air Deccan run regular flights from the important cities of India such as Kolkata, Delhi etc. Bagdogra is also connected with Gangtok by daily helicopter service operated by Sikkim Tourism development Corporation and it will take only 20 minutes to reach Gangtok from Bagdogra.
Sikkim By Road
The lifeline of Sikkim, which is National Highway 31A connects gangtok with Siliguri and this picturesque highway runs through the lush green forests along the bank of river Teesta on one side and sky touching mountain ranges of Eastern Himalaya on other side.Regular bus service operated by S.N.T. and adequate number of private buses, jeeps and taxies are available from morning to evening at reasonable rate and you can have a very comfortable journey.
Darjeeling by Air
The nearest airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra which is approximately 95 km away from the city. There are some direct flights from the cities like Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati to Darjeeling. From the airport, one can reach the city by hiring taxis. It will take almost 3 hours to reach Darjeeling from the airport. Flights are available from all major cities.
Darjeeling by railways
The nearest railway station to Darjeeling is New Jalpaiguri which connects the city with all the major parts of the country. There are a number of trains from cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar and Kochi. People can hire private cabs from the station to reach Darjeeling.
Darjeeling by road
Darjeeling is well connected to some of the major cities closeby such as Gangtok and Kalimpong which are located at a distance of 100 km and 51 km respectively. The city is also connected with Kolkata which is 651 km away and it takes around 14 hours to reach here. The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu is just 310 KM away from this beautiful place. From the airport, one can reach the city by Bus or Cab.
